Past Projects
We hosted a family event funded by Birmingham City Council's #BeBoldBeBirmingham initiative. Activities included arts and crafts, cooking, competitions, yoga, and cycling, promoting fun, health, and togetherness.
The Saathi House Stories project celebrates over four decades of history through personal interviews and visual archives, featuring memories from staff, clients, volunteers, and community members.
The 'Granddaughters and Daughters Digital Skills' project encouraged South Asian women from Birmingham to share their life experiences with young students, resulting in audio and video stories. This was a collaboration with Birchfield Independent Girls' School and Heart of England Community Foundation.
The 'Handbags and Gladrags' project transformed old garments into handbags and wall hangings, and featured spoken word and poetry about wearing Gladrags. This was done with textile artists Zulaikha Begum and Abeda Begum, and spoken word artist Sophina Jaggot and musician Katy Rose Bennett.
Gallery37 North (G37N) was a creative development programme in north Birmingham, investing in young artists through masterclasses, commissions, residencies, and workshops. In 2021, G37N delivered public art projects and launched a three-year arts residency programme
